Seismic Instruments
Smart Line Interface Module (SLIM)
The Seismic Instruments SLIM unit provides power, control and data gathering functions for two SMG Strings. It also provides command, synchronization and telemetry handling between adjacent SLIMs.
Power to the SMG String is provided via a current source. Control consists of synchronization signals and SMG parameter configuration data.
In addition to powering and controlling the SMG Strings, the SLIM buffers SMG data and transmits this data back to the CRU. The SLIM also handles command and synchronization signals from the CRU.
The Engineering SLIM is a stand-alone unit that is ideal for engineering or small project applications. It provides connections for:
- Two SMG strings
- External 12V battery
- Energy source (for time break)
- Operator console PC
The new Hybrid SLIM (HSLIM) enables our customers to convert their cabled system into a wireless recording system using the same Smart Geophone building blocks. One wireless node can have as many as 72 digital sensors per radio/battery, so the number of radios/batteries in large-channel (10,000+) systems can be reduced significantly.
