2009 has been a busy year for Seismic Instruments. So busy, in fact, that we have not yet had the time to post news to this website. The news for 2009 will be posted soon.
Nov 12, 2008.
The unveiling of Seismic Instruments new Smart Antenna Module was the
primary atraction for most of our patrons, at the SEG
Meeting 2008 in Las vegas Nevada. Personal demonstrations of
the innovative new unit, were given frequently to a variety of the
booth's guests. The presentation of the SAMs numerous capabilities as
well as the newly unveiled "hybrid" SLIM,
built for cable and wireless, kept the booth buzzing. The new SAM
design was a big hit with an even more rugged molded exterior and the
new real time quality control feature added to the GUI.
Nov 2, 2008.
Seismic Instruments, Inc. has completed the sale of its first
vibroseis capable system to Geophysik GGD
in in Leipzig Germany.
October, 2008.
A Swiss based company, Schnee-und Lawineninfo (SLF),
has purchased as small engineering system from Seismic Instruments,
Inc. for the purpose of monitoring avalanches.
The SLF is part of the WSL, the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest,
Snow and Landscape Research.
The SLF is home to five research units. Some of these work exclusively
in Davos and thus belong to the SLF, while others are located in WSL
facilities in Birmensdorf (main facility), Lausanne and Bellinzona.

Seismic Instruments, Inc. proudly announces the sale of its first radio system and succesfull field test by Shell International Exploration and Production. Please read our detailed field report.
May 23, 2008.
Seismic Instruments, Inc. successfully finished a 7 day, 144 channel wireless field test. During the field test 200 GB of continuous data was recorded without gaps. The system included 144 SMG channels, 6 SLIMs, 6 SAM radio modules. Please read our detailed field report.
April 2, 2008.
Seismic Instruments, Inc. successfully finished the
development of their first wireless system. The new Smart Antenna Module (SAM) will
enable the customer to convert their system into a wireless recording
system with continuous recording capability. SAM will provide GPS for
timing & synchronization, Antenna/Radio for communication and
Compact Flash Card for continuous recording. A major Oil Company has
purchased the first wireless system from Seismic Instruments, Inc. for
3-C data acquisition work.
